About North Penn Art

North Penn Art was formed in 1960 by Paul’s father and was purchased in 1982 by Paul Kraynak. Our specialized team of creative professionals has over 75 years of experience in the art & framing industry. Additionally, we are members of the Professional Picture Framing Association (PPFA) and actively participate in industry trade shows and workshops to keep current in design trends and framing industry best practices. We strive for quality and customer satisfaction and are dedicated to framing the treasures of your life.

Our Story

North Penn Art has always been a Lansdale family owned business. From our beginning next to the Lansdale Theater on Main Street, to our long-time (current) location on 720 South Broad Street, we remain your trusted local source for custom framing, digital reproduction and artist giclee printing.

Meet Our Team

Chris Calhoun

Chris joined North Penn Art with a Degree in Economics which makes her take on framing and design a little different from her colleagues. She enjoys seeing the true potential of the art come to life when helping with your custom framing projects.

More About Chris

Being a natural “numbers person,” Chris is most in her element when working with those numbers in the form of measuring and aligning all sorts of things at NPA. She naturally became our go-to frame builder, along with many other downstairs joining, building and cutting tasks. She’s our get-er-done gal!

Outside of NPA, Chris enjoys working in charcoal and pen-&-ink and getting involved in her community. These days, she will mostly be found spending time with her growing number of grandchildren. Rose Folkes

With a Degree in Fine Arts from Kutztown University, Rose joined the North Penn Art team over 25 years ago specializing in commercial and large format printing. With this knowledge she manages the Giclee department and has developed a successful workflow for replicating original prints.

As a fine artist herself, with her preferred medium being Oil Paints, Rose understands the value of each artist’s work. Rose has a passion for helping artists reproduce their work and constantly stays up to date with the newest and highest quality paper and ink trends. Lisa Kerr

Lisa brings to North Penn Art extensive experience in the fields of graphic design and fine art. She obtained an MFA degree from Marywood University, studying with award winning designers and illustrators.

More About Lisa

As a graphic designer, she has worked for a number of ad agencies, and continues as a freelancer. As a fine artist, she truly enjoys working with the magnificent pieces which customers bring to the shop, and will help showcase the individuality of each work according to the customer’s desires. You can trust that she understands the timing, quality and sentiment incorporated in each and every project.

Lisa Dromsky (CPF)

Lisa is a Certified Professional Picture Framer (CPF), which means preserving your art is of paramount importance to her. She has served as Director of a Fine Art Framing Gallery in the Southwestern US, primarily working with Artists, Museums, and Collectors.

More About Lisa

Her custom framing work can be found hanging in Native American Museums and Cultural Centers. As a designer and fine artist herself, Lisa has advised artists in gallery framing preparation techniques and has led workshops for students and art groups. She has worked with International Art Dealers in the secondary art & antiquities market, as an Art Director, a Graphic Designer, a muralist and a face painter! She earned her BFA from Kutztown University in Pennsylvania with a primary emphasis in painting. She then continued her education at Berkeley School of Design Philadelphia focusing on photoshop, image editing and desktop publishing. At North Penn Art, Lisa is our jane-of-all-trades. She does our social media marketing, photographs artwork, designs framing packages, and is a hands-on-framer. Lisa is enthusiastic about art and framing and is always happy to help you with your projects.

Amber Ross

Amber joined the North Penn Art team with a BFA from School of Visual Arts NYC. She studied Cartooning with a collection of graphic novelists and commercial illustrators currently working in the field. She specializes in creating and self publishing comics made with a variety of mediums. She enjoys painting both from life and her imagination using acrylic and watercolors.

Amber also teaches youth art workshops at Moore College of Art and Design, Boys and Girls Clubs of America and local summer camps.

Ann Kelly

Ann joined the North Penn Art team with a BFA in Painting and Drawing from the Tyler School of Art and Architecture where they had the opportunity to study with current working professionals in the Art and Design field. They developed an interest in framing after interning at the Silverman Bucks County Impressionism Gallery in Holicong, PA.

More About ANN

Ann’s current primary artistic area of focus is painting, printmaking, and book binding. Creatively they also enjoy making music in the form of singing, and playing guitar and bass guitar. Outside of NPA, they are the Office Administrator for the North Penn Arts Alliance where they assist in organizing community art shows and classes held at the North Wales Arts & Cultural Center.

Michele V. Kraynak

Michele is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) with over 30 years of financial, accounting and operations experience in the healthcare, senior services and intellectual/developmental disabilities industries.

More About Michele

Michele currently is the Controller/Business Manager for Royer-Greaves School for Blind in Paoli. Royer-Greaves School for Blind is a non-profit, serving children and adults with visual and other impairments, including profound intellectual and physical disabilities. Michele holds an AS from Montgomery County Community College, a BBA from Temple University and an MBA in Healthcare from St. Joseph’s University. She served as Controller at Central Montgomery Medical Center (North Penn Hospital) (1994-2004) and at Waverly Heights, a Continuing Care Retirement Community in Gladwyne (2004-2011). In 2011 Michele started her own business, Michele’s Money Services, LLC, in order to help individuals, who by virtue of their age, lifestyle or unexpected life event, found themselves unable to manage their daily money matters. In 2016, Michele sold her business to Ludwig Business Consultants and joined the firm as a consultant specializing in not for profits and senior services. Michele is a member of the Institute of Management Accountants, having served on both national and local boards. She currently serves on the Board of Limited Jurisdiction for Lansdale Catholic High School and the Board of Directors of Grace Inspired Ministries. Michele and her husband, Paul, are lifelong residents of the Lansdale area and keep busy being Mimi and Pop-Pop to twelve grandchildren.

Paul Kraynak

In 1978 Paul graduated from Kutztown University with a degree in Business. After he graduated, Paul started working for his father and Founder of North Penn Art, Joseph Kraynak.

In 1982 Paul assumed leadership of the business and has grown North Penn Art in directions his father dreamed of when he began over four decades before. Paul introduced Digital Reproduction Services, Artist Giclee Printing, and expanded framing options to the Custom Framing services at North Penn Art. Paul has over 45 years experience in Custom Framing and design and truly enjoys each day in the office. He has personally designed and crafted more than 50,000 frames and has been involved with over 60,000 more. He has also integrated newer technologies including computer controlled matte cutters and high-end art reproduction systems and printers to remain on the cutting edge of the industry. Paul has incorporated North Penn Art into the community by teaming with local businesses, such as the North Penn Art Alliance, Lansdale Hospital, and Manna on Main Street and more.
